It’s safe to say the short-lived project of Clarence is all over before it barely started. My dream to relocate and restore a beautiful traditional queenslander has been shelved indefinitely because of a very dishonest and disrespectful developer. It’s a shame that people think they can hold so much power over others when they have something you are fond of, even when it turns out it doesn’t even belong to them!
So we are moving on and have been completely consumed with researching what we will do to accommodate our rowdy mob in an affordable, functional way that makes the most of the natural elements and amazing view on our block of land.
We met with a contractor yesterday who will be doing some earthworks and I snapped a few panoramic shots.
As far as house style goes, we’ve done a complete flip in the style and have decided to build a modernist single storey home that pays tribute to architecture styled of the midcentury era.
We love the simple but bold lines and appearance of this style of house. We will have some sketches tomorrow and I am finally feeling excited again after the incredibly deflating decision to pull the pin on our Clarence project.
